Hello Everyone,
It was so nice to meet new people and to sell some more comics at the Calgary Expo 2012!! Really, made my week
I also got to work on making my costume better by sewing on the spots and heart instead of just attaching with velcro, so Lyra Ladybug can look her best too! Lol! There was a sweet little girl who came up to my table and shyly told me how she liked my ladybug costume a LOT, but didn’t forget to add that she liked her costume better because it had hearts on it (instead of dots). Too cute! That one comment made me smile so big, I really felt like Lyra that day.
It was such a busy weekend with the 25th Anniversary of Star Trek TNG, the BMO Centre couldn’t hold all the fans so the fire marshalls had to lock the rest of the people out unfortunately. But it was packed to the brim, with little breathing room in the signing room, of course the most fans were in line for Patrick Stewart, who apparently never does signings, so it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get the whole Star Trek TNG cast’s signatures, (along with a friend of ours whom we got sigs for). Had I more time I would have liked to walk around some more and visit all the wonderful vendors and artists at the con, as well as take a sneak peek at the TV guests who were signing this weekend. On a positive note, we saw some familiar faces from Manitoba, including Joker and his pal who interviewed my hubby A.P. Fuchs at last October’s C4, and made some new acquaintances as well. My hubby and I had lots of fun, and sold quite a few comics, which was a great feeling, and the air was thick with enthusiasm unlike anything I’ve seen thus far. I truly enjoyed the convention and visiting Calgary. It was a business trip though, so in the business we didn’t get to travel round much of Calgary, or do much tourist stuff, so I foresee travelling there again some time, perhaps with the kids too so we can enjoy all the sights together. There was much fun to be had though, and though the visit was short, it was a much needed chance to enjoy time with my hubby and sell some comics! Thanks to our family for watching the boys while we were away, and for your prayers for a nice trip!
P.S. – Check out my gallery page to see some more photos from the convention!
Blessings,
Roxy
